LÜHIBIOGRAAFIA
Mirjam Aimla (s. 1994) on teatri- ja filmikunsti tudeng, elab ja töötab Tallinnas ning on lõpetamas Eesti Kunstiakadeemia stsenograafia bakalaureuseõpet. Enne ülikooli astumist õppis üle kümne aasta noorte teatrikoolis ja Nukuteatri noortestuudios ning töötas paar aastat seriaalinäitlejana, mille kaudu jõudis ta stsenograafia erialani. Vabade kunstidega tutvus eelnevalt Tallinna Kunstikoolis, mille lõpetas 2011. aastal. M. Aimla on alates 2013. aastast praktiseerinud peakunstnikuna, kostüümikunstnikuna ja kunstniku assistendina nii teatri-, filmi- kui ka reklaamivaldkonnas. Oma loomingus keskendub ta loo karakteritele, kujundades nende ümber sobiva keskkonna ja rõhutades sisulisi võtmekohti kostüümi- ja rekvisiididetailidega. Teose meeleolu annab ta edasi läbimõeldud koloriidi kaudu, mis aitab luua ühtset tervikut. M.Aimla huviorbiidis on hetkel kostüümikujundus. Viimane suurem töö, Benjamin Britteni õudusooper "Kruvipööre", valmis 2016. aasta aprilli lõpus koostöös EMTA ooperistuudioga (Rahvusooper Estonia kammersaal).
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Mirjam Aimla (b. 1994) is a student of theatre and film arts, who lives and works in Tallinn and is graduating from Bachelor’s studies in scenography from Estonian Academy of Arts. Before entering the university, she studied in youth theatre school and in the youth
studio of the Puppet Theatre for more than ten years and acted in TV serials for a couple of years, which led her to the field of scenography. She got her previous introduction to free arts in Tallinn Art School, which she graduated in 2011. Since 2013, Aimla has practiced as the art director, costume designer and artist’s assistant in theatre, movies and commercials. In her work, she concentrates on the characters of the story, shaping a suitable environment around them and focusing on the key content points with the details of costumes and props. She conveys the mood of the piece with a thoughtful colour scheme, which ties the piece into a whole. Currently, the M. Aimla’s interest is centered on costume design. Her latest larger work, Benjamin Britten’s horror opera “Turn of the Screw” came out at the end of April 2016 in co-operation with the opera studio of Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (in the Chamber Hall of the Estonian National Opera).
